my little monkey

so did I mention that I got annual zoo passes? And I can take any adult with me, so if anyone is ever up for the zoo (and it is not too hot) let me know! Last weekend we had a great 4th bbq-ing and hanging out with friends - unfortunately, Matt was at scout camp and missed out on the festivities. To make up for it he took Monday off and we decided to take advantage of our zoo passes. It was a little warmer than expected, but a lot of fun because it was not at all crowded and all the monkeys and gorillas were out and playing. I always call Chase my little monkey - which happens to be my favorite animal and his. We spent most of the time looking at the Gorillas and the chimpanzees.

Here is Chase and the big male gorilla. They were literally inches apart - separated only by very very thick glass. The gorilla was looking right at Chase and Chase was so thrilled he couldn't stop saying "ooh ooh ooh" (his monkey/gorilla sounds). we had to tear him away.

If you click on the first pic you can see the gorilla re-eating his re-gurgitated food. he did this like 3 times. it was gross. i guess it was so good he wanted to keep enjoying it.

Here we are watching all the chimps playing - there were about 10 of them "hanging" around and being pretty entertaining. you can see Chase saying much more "ooh ooh" 's

So seriously, we love the zoo and will take anyone who wants to come along.
