Summer Road Trip

We drove to Utah this summer!  Correction, I drove to Utah this summer!  BY MYSELF WITH ALL FOUR KIDS!!!  I was super nervous about it, and there were some pretty rough moments....like when we were all in a hotel room in St. George and it was 10pm and I screamed at the kids because they wouldn't be quiet and Olivia wouldn't go to sleep.  Or like when Mia and Lyla were physically fighting in the back seat and, again, I was screaming at them.  But we made it!  And it was a good reminder to me that I can do hard things.  And I kind of liked the solitude of driving (when Olivia was asleep and the other kids were watching a movie).

And it was worth it, because we had a great week in Utah visiting my sisters and all the cousins.  Highlights included Pineview reservoir for kayaking and paddleboarding, trip to SLC for Natural History Museum, bowling, Lagoon, and Zeppes shaved ice.  Best of all was just spending time together and watching the kids build their relationships.  And thankfully, Matt accompanied us for the drive home!
